Our friend Sarah and her mom carried a bunch of box forms from Insadong for us, so we can offer this very, very cool class.
Join us on Sunday, October 16, 10:00 to 4:00. We'll construct 6-sided boxes and add a layer of white paper to them in the morning. We'll break for lunch and let the first layer of paper dry. After lunch, we'll add the colorful paper (your choice) and the cut designs.
For anyone who's interested, we can walk to Mirror of Korea for lunch. Yum.

September Class: Hanging Hanji Plaque
Join us on Sunday, September 18 at 1:00 for a super fun, super easy new project. You'll make a customized hanji wall plaque. You pick the paper, you pick the design, and you'll go home with a beautiful piece of Korean artwork.
You'll start with a wood plaque -- large ($10) or small ($7). Pick a front and back mulberry paper and the design you'd like on the plaque.
Using traditional flour-water paste, attach the paper to the wood surface.
Once the front and back papers are in place, cover the front with hanji paste and add your design.
Once it's dry, add a ribbon and hang it up.
Send an email to thehanjicrew@yahoo.com to register for the class on September 18.
Next up: Six-sided hanji boxes made from Korean forms. These awesome boxes take a little extra time, so we'll meet from 10:00 - 4:00 on Sunday, October 16. More about that project soon!
